"This Is What You Are" - Mario Biondi

This Is What You Are es un tema musical escrito por Mario Biondi y Alessandro Magnanini e interpretado por Biondi en colaboración con High Five Quintet. Fue publicado como single debut en 2006.

Canción

La primera versión de "This Is What You Are" se lanzó en 2004, como parte del proyecto Was-a-Bee, en un intento de introducir a Mario Biondi en el mercado japonés. Sin embargo, el single llegó al DJ británico Norman Jay, quien hizo circular la canción en la lista de reproducción de la Radio 1 de la BBC, e introducirlo más tarde en el álbum recopilatorio Good Times 5, en el que hay otras canciones de cantantes de soul y vocal jazz como Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye y James Brown.

Gracias al éxito obtenido en el mercado británico, el sello discográfico Schema Records toma la decisión de publicar un álbum de Mario Biondi en Italia, titulado Hand of Soul en el que se incluye This Is What You Are. La canción tiene un éxito notable incluso en la radio italiana, especialmente para una canción del género soul, y contribuye a lanzar la carrera de Biondi.

"Living in the Plastic Age" - The Buggles

"Living in the Plastic Age" es una canción new wave del grupo británico The Buggles, grabada en enero de 1980 y disponible en el álbum The Age of Plastic. A pesar de ser la primera pista en el disco ya mencionado, fue grabada después de Video Killed the Radio Star. La canción llegó al puesto número 16 de las listas en el Reino Unido.

La canción alude a la cirugía plástica y al estrés de la cultura moderna. The Buggles también creó un vídeo musical bastante futurista e inusual, el cual salió en pantallas el mismo año. Sin embargo, este vídeo raramente ha aparecido en canales de música.

El videoclip empleó colores brillantes y motivos bastante provocativos (como mujeres con pintura corporal representando objetos inanimados).

El vídeo tiene lugar en algún momento del futuro, con 3 jóvenes vestidos como demonios, usando gafas coloridas (como parte de una vestimenta futurista) en un espacio oscuro. Uno de ellos apunta a un edificio en una pequeña ciudad que parece una maqueta. En una sala Trevor Horn se despierta de una cama movediza vistiendo guantes de goma amarillos y un traje gris. Horn abre una puerta y ve a una mujer con maquillaje blanco, casi semi-desnuda, que lanza una misteriosa chispa (esta chispa reaparece después en el vídeo).

"European Female" - The Stranglers

"European Female" es una canción interpretada por el grupo británico de New Wave "The Stranglers". Publicada como primer single, fue incluida dentro del álbum de 1982 Feline que llevaba como subtitulo el propio nombre de esta canción "The European Female"

Hay que reseñar al bajista del grupo Jean-Jacques Burnel como vocalista principal del tema. La canción alcanzó número nueve en el UK Singles Chart, lista en la que se mantuvo seis semanas

Gran y desconocida canción del grupo neoyorquino "Haerts" incluida en el disco homónimo de 2014.

"Slow" es el titulo de una canción de la cantante británica Rumer. Fue el primer single que se lanzó de su álbum debut "Seasons of My Soul".

Alcanzó el nº16 en el UK Singles Chart en septiembre de 2010 y el puesto 33 en la Irish Singles Chart. La canción fue récord de la semana en BBC Radio 2 y en la Smooth FM liso. El video musical fue filmado en un estudio de grabación.

Hero - David Crosby & Phil Collins

Canción incluida dentro del tercer álbum en solitario de David Crosby "Thousand Road"publicado en  1993.

Crosby, mienbro fundador del grupo de los años 60 "The Byrds" y posteriormente integrante del cuarteto "Crosby, Still, Nash and Young" es un musico en activo pertenneciente al Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
