"Driver's Seat" - Sniff'n the Tears

"Driver's Seat" es una canción interpretada por el grupo de rock británico "Sniff'n the Tears" que fue publicada en 1979 en su álbum debut. Realmente este tema fue el éxito más importante de la banda por lo que se ha considerado esta canción como un One Hit Wonder.

"Driver's Seat" alcanzó el numero 15 de la lista American Billboard Pop Singles chart  en el otoño de1979, y el top ten de la lista de Países Bajos en noviembre de 1980 denotando de esta manera la larga vida de las canciones de aquella época mientras que en el Reino Unido tan solo llego al puesto 42. Once años mas tarde gracias su inclusión en un anuncio publicitario de Pioneer llegó hasta el numero 1 también en los mismos Países Bajos.

"What's up ? - 4 Non Blondes

«What's Up?» es una canción interpretada por la agrupación 4 Non Blondes. Fue escrita por Linda Perry para el álbum Bigger, Better, Faster, More!. Fue lanzada como el segundo sencillo del álbum en 1993. La canción tuvo éxito en las radios. Alcanzó la posición 14 en el Billboard Hot 100. Sin embargo, el sencillo tuvo mejores posiciones alrededor del mundo, llegando al primer lugar en Alemania, Chile e Irlanda y el segundo en el Reino Unido y Australia.

Pese a que el nombre de la canción se titula What's Up? "¿qué pasa?", nunca aparece esta frase en la canción. La que si predomina es la expresión what's goin' on? "¿que está pasando?" prominentemente en el coro. Finalmente optaron por el título "What's Up?" para evitar la confusión con el nombre de la canción y el álbum de 1971 "What's Going On", de Marvin Gaye. El video musical fue dirigido por Morgan Lawley.

"Lollipop" es una canción pop escrita por Julius Dixson y Beverly Ross en 1958. Grabada en primer lugar por el dúo Ronald & Ruby, siendo el propio Ross "Rubí", posteriormente fue versionada ese mismo año con mucho más éxito por el grupo vocal femenino "The Chordettes".

La versión realizada por "The Chordettes" de "Lollipop" alcanzó el nº2 y nº3 de las listas del Billboard Pop y R&B convirtiéndose en hit mundial. En gran Bretaña se aupo hasta la sexta posición en abril de 1958

"Frente a frente" - Jeanette vs Bunbury

"Frente a frente" es una canción compuesta por el compositor español Manuel Alejandro y Ana Magdalena, interpretada por primera vez por la cantante Jeanette en 1981, como primer single de su álbum Corazón de poeta que le llevó a la cima de su carrera musical como baladista, siendo reconocida en España y en Sudamérica con ventas que sobrepasaron las cinco millones de copias.

En 2010, Enrique Bunbury, ex vocalista de Héroes del Silencio, publicó su sexto álbum de estudio, titulado Las consecuencias, en el que incluyó una versión a dúo con la cantante Miren Iza, vocalista de Tulsa, de este clásico.

El tema fue el primer single del álbum, y comenzó su promoción el 15 de enero con el videoclip dirigido por Juan Antonio Bayona (El orfanato). En el videoclip intervino también Miren Iza, y al final del mismo hacía una pequeña aparición Jeanette, como homenaje a la intérprete original de la canción.

Con letra de  Daryl Hall y John Oates y la participación de Sara Allen, la canción fue lanzada como segundo sencillo de su décimo álbum de estudio, Private Eyes en 1981. El tema se convirtió en el cuarto número uno de su carrera en el Billboard Hot 100 y el segundo hit del disco Private Eyes. En el saxo aparece como colaborador Charles DeChant.

"I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" es una de las 14 canciones de Hall & Oates que han sido radiadas más de un millón de veces, según BMI.

El 30 de enero de 1982, "I Can't Go for That" finalizó el periodo de permanencia en el puesto más alto del Hot 100 que había comenzado 10 semanas atrás sustituyendo a la canción de Olivia Newton-John "Physical"

"Here's to You".- Joan Baez / Ennio Morricone

"Here´s to You" es una canción compuesta por Ennio Morricone, la música y la letra por parte de Joan Báez, publicada en 1971 dentro de la banda sonora de la película Sacco y Vanzetti.

La canción es un homenaje a los dos anarquistas de origen italiano, Nicola Sacco y Bartolomeo Vanzetti que fueron condenados a muerte por un tribunal de Estados Unidos en la década de 1920. Hoy en dia existe un consenso generalizado sobre la sentencia condenatoria se basó mas en  penar las ideas anarquistas de los acusados que en  las pruebas.

La letra de  canción se basa en una carta real del propio  Bartolomeo Vanzetti: "padre, sí, soy un prisionero. No tengo medo por mi crimen. El delito es amar a los renegados. Sólo el silencio produce vergüenza". Estas palabras inspiraron a Báez escribir las letra de la denominad  Balada de Sacco y Vanzetti. La música de Ennio Morricone, el compositor de un gran número de bandas sonoras de películas, tiene la particularidad de repetirse la misma línea musical 10 veces, con los dos primeros compases sin letra. En los Estados Unidos y en todo el mundo, la canción se convirtió en un verdadero tema a favor de los derechos humanos en la década de 1970.
